Time-Line Privacy Policy

Time-Line ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Cole Perry. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use the Time-Line mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: first name, last name, username, email address, date of birth, and password when you create an account.
• Profile content: profile photo, bio, and card customization settings.
• Content you post: text, photos, videos, polls, and other content you share as "Moments."
• Messages: direct messages you send to other users.
• Comments and reactions: comments, likes, and reactions you leave on Moments.
• Location (optional): place names or cities you attach to Moments. We do not collect your GPS or precise location without your explicit action.

Information collected automatically

• Device push token: a token assigned by Apple to send you push notifications. Stored only to deliver notifications you have enabled.
• Usage data: basic interaction data (e.g., which features you use) collected by our backend infrastructure to maintain service reliability.
• Log data: IP address, device type, and operating system version, collected automatically by our cloud provider (Supabase) for security and debugging.

Information from third-party sign-in

• Apple Sign In: if you choose "Sign in with Apple," Apple shares your name and email (or a private relay email) with us to create your account. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
• Google Sign In: if you choose "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo. We do not receive your Google password.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To display your profile and content to other users of the App.
• To deliver push notifications you have opted into (new BFFs, likes, comments, messages).
• To enable social features: following, BFF connections, direct messages, and group timelines.
• To power gamification features: XP, milestones, and leaderboards based on your activity.
• To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
• To improve the App and fix bugs, using anonymized usage patterns.

3. How We Share Your Information

With other users

Time-Line is a social app. Your username, profile photo, bio, and Moments are visible to all users of the App. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. There are no private accounts — all content is public within the App.

With service providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:

• Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data and content are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to prevent illegal activity.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Content you have shared (Moments, comments) may remain briefly in backup systems before being fully purged.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction

You can view and update your profile information at any time within the App under your TimeVault settings.

Delete your account

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at ctperry0301@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

Push notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's system Settings, or within the App under Settings → Notifications.

California residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email ctperry0301@gmail.com.

European residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise these rights, email ctperry0301@gmail.com. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (given at account creation) and our legitimate interest in operating the service.

6. Age Restriction (18+)

TimeLine is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We require users to provide their date of birth at registration and deny access to anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us at ctperry0301@gmail.com and we will delete the account promptly.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and encrypted storage via Supabase. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via a notification in the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
